Thats a very nice 1911, I wonder how much the price tag would set me back. Definately a safe queen.

Love the sentiment, hate the gun....lol...would much rather just have a copy of the Declaration on the wall and a blued 1911 in the holster.

I don't believe in safe queens. Guns were made to be shot. I have a muzzle loader that started life as a .58 flintlock rifle, was used by one of my ancestors in the Revolutionary war, was later converted to a cap lock and used again in the War of aggression against the South. It hangs over my fire place. I shoot it at least 4-5 times a year. I would take that pistol to my range in the back yard and see if its worthy.

its a beautiful gun I do not think anyone is denying that, its just that with a gun of that kind of beauty and craftsmanship, no one would want to shoot it,

and after all, a gun is meant to be shot....

I will! It's hideous! There is no beauty. It's like a velvet painting of Elvis. I assume this came from that company that advertises in the front of gun magazines with things like gold plated AR-15's and Thompsons? In that case, I think it is safe to say there is no "craftsmanship" here either!

Compare the price to a nice custom Wilson 1911 and it will give you some idea of "value." Despite the fact that that "commemorative company" always charges twice what their gaudy stuff is worth!
